The following site allows you to follow the application procedure to Wola District Public Library. Here we explain the Library Rules and Procedures using fictional characters. Each of these characters denotes a different group of patrons.

Signing up an adult permanent resident of Warsaw

Mary is a permanent resident of Warsaw. She has lived in the Wola District since her childhood. After she retired Mary has more time for herself. While attending the computer classes at the Wola Public Library, Mary was encouraged by other seniors to sign up for the Library Card. One of her classmates gave her some advice:
- When you decide to sign up remember to bring the ID card with you.

- In order to get a library card please visit one of our library locations and submit in person.

- By signing this Form you accept the Library Rules and Procedures and Privacy Policy. You authorize the Library to process your personal data for the Library statistic purposes. You also authorize the Library to use these data in case of eventual legal claims for unreturned library materials.
- You may give another person access to your account, however such permission needs to be authorized at the same Library premises which issued your Library Card.
- In order to authorize another person to use your account you will be asked to fill
in the following form:
- After you become a registered user you will receive the Library Card. The card will be changed for a new one with no additional charge in case the bar code is rubbed off or in case your name is changed. However if you lose it you’ll be charged 10 PLN for a replacement.

- Based on the data from your ID the librarian creates an e-Account for you. Your e-Account needs a PIN. It should be a combination of 6-8 letters and digit. A strong PIN will protect your account against e.g. requesting titles by unauthorized persons.

Signing up an underage person who is a Warsaw resident

Jacob was born in Warsaw and lives in the Wola District. He often comes to the library to read the computer magazines and comic books. Lately he decided to sign up to with Library in order to borrow some maps. He was advised as follows:
- You are underage so your mother or your legal guardian has to sign up for you.
- In order to get a library card please visit one of Wola library locations with your guardian and submit in person.
- Your guardian will be asked to present his/her ID. Your guardian’s personal data will enable the librarian to open your personal Library e- Account.

Paul is a resident of Lodz but he studies in Warsaw. He sends an e-mail to the Library with the following question –
May I sign up to Wola Public Library although I am not a resident of Warsaw? This is the answer from our librarian:
Dear Sir,
Although you are not a permanent resident of Warsaw you may sign up with the Wola Public Library according to the same rules as residents do. Let me give you some helpful hints.
- Please bring your ID to the library; your personal data will enable the librarian to open your personal Library e- Account and prepare the Library Card.
- In order to get a library card please visit one of our library locations and submit in person.

Foreigners

Foreigners, users who are not residents of Poland
Foreign students from the Erasmus European Union student Exchange program may become patrons of Wola Library. They are going to convince you how easy it is to sign up to Wola Public Library.
- In order to get a Library Card, visit one of Wola library locations and submit in person. We came directly to Poliglotka (The Polyglot) Reading Room and signed up there.

library locations - In the Library you will be asked to create your PIN for your e-Account. It should be a combination of 6-8 letters and digits. A strong PIN will protect your account against e.g. requesting the titles by unauthorized persons.
- Next you will be asked to accept and sign an Agreement Concerning Loan of Materials from Wola District Public Library
- Fill in the Agreement Form here
- Print out the Form in 2 copies and bring them to the Library on the day you want to sign up.
- You can also print out the document in the Library from your own flash memory stick or CD.
- If you are unable to print the Form prior to coming to the Library or to save it on your memory stick, the librarian will ask you to fill in the Agreement in writing on the spot
- Due to Polish Personal Data Protection Act please do not send to the Library the filled in Agreement by post.
- Next you will be asked to accept and sign an Agreement Concerning Loan of Materials from Wola District Public Library
- By signing the Agreement you accept the Library Rules and Procedures
- After you become a registered user you will receive the Library Card. The card will be exchanged for a new one with no additional charge in case the bar code is rubbed off or in case your name is changed. However if you lose it you’ll be charged 10 PLN for the replacement.

The lack of address in your ID is not an obstacle in using our Library holdings. Also, under-age persons with their legal guardians who do not have permanent residency are welcomed.
Here are some hints on how non-residents can sign up to the Library:

We have good news for you:
- Even if you are not a Library Card holder you can still use the Library collection. Just show your photo ID to the librarian.
- If you want to use the Internet please fill in the Internet User Policy Form first.
- The Reading Rooms loan certain materials for holidays and hours when they are closed. To be able to use this service you must have the Library e-Account and respect the Return Policy.
